About The Position

This role is for a Moxie Program Manager at New Avenues for Youth. The ideal candidate will have personal experience with substance use, mental health, and/or houselessness, which fuels their compassion and care. They will act as a compassionate listener, a reliable advocate, and a growth-oriented leader. The role requires an understanding of how systemic oppression impacts youth and a commitment to equity. As a leader, this person will motivate and inspire the team, foster collaboration, help identify solutions, and support professional growth.

  • Equitable: You understand how systemic oppression impacts the lives of youth in programs and the systems that you will support youth in navigating. You approach this world with humility and a deep sense of growth and learning.
  • Leader: You motivate and inspire through modeling, coaching, and encouraging the team. You foster collaboration and teamwork, help identify solutions, and support team members in their professional growth and development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology or social work, or equivalent experience working with high-risk youth
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with high-risk youth and/or in a residential facility
  • At least one year of supervisory experience

Responsibilities

  • Build trust and rapport with youth and staff using a trauma informed lens.
  • Model a strengths-based approach while also holding people accountable.
  • Foster positive relationships with youth, the housing teams, and broader agency teams to support the access of resources and coordination of services.
  • Help onboard and train new staff.
  • Engage in supportive coaching conversations with program staff.
  • Promote professional development.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records related to youth engagements as well as staff supervision, ensuring that contract, licensing, and program expectations are met.
