About The Position

This full-time, non-exempt position is responsible for performing mowing and tractor tasks to meet contract specifications. The role requires operating various types of tractors and equipment, applying materials, performing large-scale mowing, and basic maintenance. The employee will report to the Project Manager and must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. This position is located in Greenbelt, Maryland.

Requirements

One to two years tractor experience, preferably grounds-related.
Must have a clean driving record.
Must successfully complete criminal history information background check and drug screening.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience with individuals with disabilities.
Some supervisory experience.
One or two years’ general landscape experience.
Some familiarity with pesticides.

Responsibilities

Uses full-size tractors, including front-end loader, riding mowers, and broadcast spreaders.
Using a tractor-mounted skid steer spreader, applies lime, fertilizer, grass seed, herbicides, and pesticides.
Performs large-scale mowing of the assigned work areas.
Reports any abnormalities in trees, shrubs, and grass.
Performs basic maintenance and cleaning of all tractors and attachments.
Reports any repairs/maintenance needed for tractors.
Plows snow as needed.
Follows all safety procedures.
Maintains lawn in conformance to the specifications of the contract.
Performs other landscape-related tasks as needed.
