About The Position

Perform general moving duties, including moving boxes, furniture, and other classroom items. This is a part-time, temporary position suitable for summer employment for current SAISD High School students who are at least 16 years old.

Requirements

Current SAISD High School Student
Must be at least 16 years old
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to operate hand and power tools
Ability to work independently
Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds without assistance, 30-55 pounds with assistance, and more than 55 pounds with appropriate assistance
Maintain emotional control under stress
Work with frequent interruptions

Responsibilities

Moving classroom and equipment from one site to another.
Assist with relocation of furnishings, such as desks, tables, chairs, file cabinets, etc.
Move, install, assemble, and repair all school furniture and playground equipment as needed.
Operate light truck to transport furniture, equipment and supplies and materials throughout district.
Work irregular hours
Operate equipment and use tools following established safety procedures.
Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties.
Correct unsafe conditions in work area and immediately report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor.
Participate in professional learning, staff meetings, and special events as assigned.
Articulate the district’s mission and goals to the community and solicit community support.
