About The Position

Provide office moving and relocation services, including assembling and disassembling equipment as needed. Move computers, electronics, and laboratory equipment according to instructions. Offer packing services for offices and laboratories to ensure the secure transit of items. Set up and support services for ARC special events, including loading, unloading, and arranging furniture, equipment, and materials per specifications. Load, secure, and unload furniture, equipment, and materials on transport vehicles within the ARC. Set up and remove tables, seating, canopies, and equipment for special events as per provided floor plans. Pack, mark, label, store, inventory, and clean up Hazardous Material (HM) in accordance with regulations and procedures. Ensure proper receiving, inspection, sorting, and distribution of all inbound mail, parcels, equipment, and freight throughout the NASA Ames Research Center. Provide receiving and unloading of all mail, supplies, equipment, and materials coming into the Ames Research Center Mail Room Facility. Conduct x-ray and visual inspection of all inbound supplies, mail, equipment, and materials at the NASA Ames Mail Room, Supply Warehouse, and follow proper procedures for suspicious items. Perform Mail route delivery for all inbound mail, supplies, equipment, and materials, including Overnight priority parcels coming into the Ames Research Center. Verify quantities and description of supplies received with associated documentation and report all discrepancies in writing to the supervisor. Design and construct suitable boxes and crates and provide appropriate cushioning materials for shipment of various items. Prepare, package, and process outbound shipments. Move equipment and supplies to designated staging areas for timely distribution and to designated Custodial Storage areas. Maintain a clean DMV record, practice safe driving, and operate stand-up and sit-down counterbalance forklifts. Effectively communicate and possess computer skills. Provide daily and weekly vehicle inspections for Mail delivery vehicles, forklifts, material moving equipment, and other Government and company-owned vehicles. Support the company and NASA's established goals and objectives, with an emphasis on workplace safety policies and guidelines.
