About The Position

WECTEC Staffing Services, a subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric Company LLC, is seeking an innovative MOV Senior Tester to support Westinghouse's mission of providing clean energy solutions. This role is a short-term contract position, lasting 4 to 6 weeks, with the possibility of multiple assignments. The position requires 100% travel and involves working 40-72 hours per week. The ideal candidate will report to the On-Site Manager and perform various testing and maintenance tasks on motor-operated valves (MOVs) to ensure they meet design and vendor specifications. Safety, quality, and adherence to procedural guidelines are paramount in this role, which may involve working in challenging environments and overtime, including shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational, technical training or EPRI qualifications.
  • Five (5) years of hands-on experience in diagnostic testing and MOV/actuator valve maintenance.
  • Mechanical and electrical experience; ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • U.S. Navy nuclear background or equivalent training in reactor maintenance or operations.
  • Satisfactory performance rating from previous work (based on client and contractor feedback).
  • Proficiency in using basic hand tools, electrical instruments, diagnostic tools, and conducting maintenance following OSHA or client requirements for electrical and mechanical safety.
  • Complete and pass all pre-employment and employment screening requirements, which may include practical and written skills assessments, computer-based training, medical, psychological, background, and substance abuse screenings.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the On-Site Manager.
  • Perform functional and post-maintenance diagnostic testing, corrective and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of motor-operated valves (MOVs).
  • Ensure MOV performance meets prescribed design and vendor specifications, including seating force, stroke length, and position control.
  • Perform leak testing, valve adjustments, and alignment checks using appropriate gauges and tools.
  • Support field troubleshooting, emergency repairs, and continuous improvement plans.
  • Complete work orders with accurate documentation of tasks and daily field activity logs.
  • Ensure safety of self and team and prevent damage to plant equipment.
  • Follow Quality standards and procedural guidelines set by the customer.
  • Comply with work hour requirements and observe Quality, Radiological, Human Performance, and other nuclear program norms.
  • Use appropriate PPE, including respirators, fall protection, safety glasses, and hard hats.
  • Follow lockout/tag out requirements.
  • Perform tasks in confined spaces, high-temperature areas, and elevated heights.
  • Maintain focus for extended periods and read/write complex documents in English.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including shifts, weekends, and holidays.
