About The Position

The Mounted Wheel Technician at McCarthy Tire Service is responsible for dismounting tires from wheels and mounting them onto rims according to company and safety standards. This role involves balancing tires using approved equipment to ensure proper performance and safety, and assisting with loading and unloading trailers or box trucks as needed. The technician will operate and maintain tire service equipment, including tire changers and balancers, while ensuring a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Key duties also include inspecting tires and wheels to identify acceptable and defective conditions, determining when repairs or replacements are necessary, and accurately documenting all work performed. The position requires adherence to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, attendance, teamwork, and training, and a positive, flexible attitude towards additional duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to assist with other job duties as assigned.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Dismount tires from wheels and mount tires onto rims according to company and safety standards.
  • Balance tires using approved balancing equipment to ensure proper performance and safety.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trailers or box trucks as needed.
  • Operate tire service equipment, including tire changers, balancers, and related tools, while ensuring proper care and maintenance of all equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, ensuring materials and equipment are handled safely.
  • Inspect tires and wheels to identify acceptable and defective conditions and clearly mark items as required.
  • Demonstrate the ability to determine when tires, wheels, or related components should be repaired or replaced.
  • Accurately document and communicate all work performed in accordance with company procedures.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, attendance, teamwork, training, and operational processes.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned by management.
  • Approach new tasks with a positive and flexible attitude.
