Under the direction of the Sustainability & Stewardship Coordinator, the Mountain Steward Technician will be part of a team that helps shape Bogus’ landscape and promote sustainable practices on the mountain. How You’ll Make a Difference As a Mountain Steward, you’ll be part of Bogus Basin’s efforts to reduce waste, improve Bogus Basins' flora, improve upon initiatives, and more! You’ll play a hands-on role in advancing the resort’s sustainability goals.

Requirements

  • Some education in sustainability, environmental science, environmental education, conservation, leadership, or related field.
  • Passion and basic knowledge of sustainability & waste diversion programs
  • Must be at least 20 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
  • Passion for the Bogus Basin Mission.
  • Excellent verbal and written science communication skills.
  • Desire to care for open spaces and the environment.
  • Comfortable communicating with the public about sustainability initiatives.
  • Background check required.
  • Availability to work for the rest of the season (August-October)

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to navigate on uneven terrain

Responsibilities

  • Noxious weed pulling and spraying throughout the mountain
  • Recycling and compost sorting as needed
  • Planting and seeding native flora in disturbed sites
  • Assist with new and post construction invasive/noxious weed monitoring
  • Maintenance of hiking trails
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
