About The Position

As a Mountain Safety Host at Mt. Hood Meadows, you're a frontline ambassador of safety, guest service, and mountain culture. This dynamic role places you at the heart of the guest experience, engaging directly with skiers and riders across the mountain to promote responsible behavior, assist with on-hill needs, and foster a safe and enjoyable environment for all. With a strong foundation in advanced skiing or snowboarding, you'll patrol terrain, educate guests on slope safety codes, and support Ski Patrol with incident response and scene management. Whether you're helping a family find their way, de-escalating a tense moment, or setting a positive example on the mountain, your impact is immediate and meaningful. Requirements

18 years of age or older
Advanced skiing or snowboarding skills
Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions
Excellent verbal communication skills
De-escalation experience
Experience enforcing or teaching Policies, Rules or Codes
Able to commit to working weekends, evenings and some holidays during the operations season
Must be comfortable with the changing dynamics of a seasonal business

Nice To Haves

Expert skiing or riding skills
Familiar with “The Responsibility Code” and “Park Smart”
Familiar with Mt Hood Meadows terrain
Alpine winter work or volunteer experience
Experience communicating with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds and experiences

Responsibilities

Promote responsible behavior on the slopes.
Assist guests with on-hill needs.
Foster a safe and enjoyable environment for all guests.
Patrol terrain.
Educate guests on slope safety codes.
Support Ski Patrol with incident response and scene management.
De-escalate tense moments.
Set a positive example on the mountain.
