The Motorsports Manager Vehicle Dynamics Simulation will own the development of CAE methods and tools used to study the integration and resulting performance of GM race vehicles. This role leads the development of an in-house simulation toolchain for all GM’s race programs, aiming to maximize vehicle on-track performance across all GM race series. The manager will set the direction and bring state-of-the-art simulation methods to the program, defining and implementing best practices in vehicle and subsystems modeling, vehicle dynamics target setting, R&D in CAE methods, data analytics, and XiL development. This position plays a key role in managing the development of GM’s simulation program and involves building and managing a multi-disciplinary team of engineers. Responsibilities include developing and implementing efficient RT capable multibody models in a simulation toolchain, creating new simulation and analytical techniques, and supervising an inter-functional team. The role supervises four Motorsports Vehicle Dynamics Simulation Engineers, one Motorsports Vehicle Dynamics Optimization Tech Specialist, and one Motorsports Simulation Software Engineer. Approximately 10% domestic and international travel is required. The work policy is hybrid, with 3 days in-office and 2 days remote, requiring the ability to report to a local office.
