About The Position

JP Logistics & Consulting LLC (JPLC) is seeking a talented Motor Vehicle Mechanic to work in a unique, dynamic environment at Tyndall AFB, FL. The role involves performing preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles, including General Purpose & Base Maintenance/Construction, Non-Registered Equipment, Military Design vehicles, and Fire Trucks. The mechanic will diagnose and repair major assemblies, replace worn parts, and work on systems such as fuel injection, lighting, and ignition. This position requires rounded training and experience, typically acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have experience in wiring, electronics, automotive mechanical repairs, welding, and machine shop fundamentals.
• Must be able to speak fluent English.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must obtain a favorable, trustworthy determination.
• Must pass pre-employment drug testing.
• Must be Flexible.
• Current Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in medium/heavy duty truck specialty OR 3 years’ experience in medium/heavy duty vehicle maintenance.
• Minimum of 1 individual with a Class A Commercial Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide preventative maintenance and repairs on General Purpose & Base Maintenance/Construction vehicles, Non-Registered Equipment, Military Design vehicles, and Fire Trucks.
• Repair, rebuild, or overhaul major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, or tractors.
• Diagnose the source of trouble and determine the extent of repairs required.
• Replace worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts.
• Grind and adjust valves.
• Rebuild carburetors.
• Overhaul transmissions.
• Repair fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.
• Haul equipment/attachments when needed for maintenance purposes (requires a Class A Commercial Driver’s license).
