About The Position

JP Logistics & Consulting LLC (JPLC) is seeking a talented Motor Vehicle Mechanic to work in a unique, dynamic environment. The Motor Vehicle Mechanic repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, or tractors. Work involves diagnosing the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required; replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors; overhauling transmissions; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems. In general, the work of the Motor Vehicle Mechanic requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent. Provide preventative maintenance and repairs on General Purpose & Base Maintenance/Construction vehicles, Non-Registered Equipment, Military Design vehicles, and Fire Trucks.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have experience in wiring, electronics, automotive mechanical repairs, welding, and machine shop fundamentals.
• Must be able to speak fluent English.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must obtain a favorable, trustworthy determination.
• Must pass pre-employment drug testing.
• ASE Certified
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Possess current Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in medium/heavy duty truck specialty or possess 3 years’ experience in medium/heavy duty vehicle maintenance.
• Provide a minimum of 1 individual with a Class A Commercial Driver’s license as required to haul equipment/attachments when needed for maintenance purposes.

Responsibilities

• Provide preventative maintenance and repairs on General Purpose & Base Maintenance/Construction vehicles, Non-Registered Equipment, Military Design vehicles, and Fire Trucks.
• Diagnose the source of trouble and determine the extent of repairs required.
• Replace worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts.
• Grind and adjust valves.
• Rebuild carburetors.
• Overhaul transmissions.
• Repair fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.
• Haul equipment/attachments when needed for maintenance purposes.
• Perform additional duties as required.
