About The Position

Valiant is looking for a Motor Vehicle Mechanic to join our team! This role involves performing intermediate and direct support level maintenance for commercial/civilian vehicles and equipment, including ATVs, small engines, light towers, generators, and trailers. The mechanic will use diagnostic equipment and technical manuals to identify and repair maintenance faults, working both in a maintenance shop and in the field. Responsibilities also include operating recovery vehicles, forklifts, and tractors, and working in various weather conditions, including weekends and shift work, while adhering to all environmental and safety rules.

Requirements

3+ years’ experience as a general mechanic on civilian/domestic vehicles.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
Must be able to travel unaccompanied to continental US and foreign locations.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must possess a valid La Class D chauffeur’s license or obtain one within the first 90 days of hire to maintain employment.
Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug screening; will be subject to random drug screening.

Responsibilities

Perform intermediate and direct support level maintenance for commercial/civilian vehicles and equipment.

Use diagnostic equipment and technical manuals for identifying maintenance faults and repairs.
Perform maintenance at maintenance shop and in the field.
Operate recovery vehicles such as car hauler or wrecker.
Operate forklift and tractor.
Work in various weather conditions.
Work weekends and shift work.
Follow all environmental and safety rules.
Other duties as assigned.
