About The Position

The Fleet Management Department is recruiting for a Motor Pool Specialist who performs various tasks relating to the performance of support functions including, monitoring the utilization, control and disposition of vehicles in the County fleet; and preparing, compiling and maintaining data, records and reports.

Requirements

  • Incumbents must successfully complete a background check prior to appointment.
  • A valid California Class C Driver License is required to carry out the essential job-related functions of this position.
  • Incumbents must obtain and maintain a valid California Class B driver license within six (6) months of hire.
  • The Department of Transportation (DOT) mandates drug testing of all employees in jobs requiring a class B or higher driver license.
  • Prior to hire, employees must pass a medical examination and drug test.
  • Employees are subject to random drug testing as well as drug testing following accidents and upon reasonable suspicion.
  • San Bernardino County is unable to consider to candidates who require Visa Sponsorship at this time or in the future.
  • Candidates must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States at the time of employment.
  • One (1) year of full-time equivalent experience working with vehicle registration, fleet credit card system, or vehicle data base management.
  • Job duties must be clearly detailed on the work experience section of the application.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a Fleet Management Information System (FMIS) is desirable.
