Hoopaugh Grading Company, LLC (HGC) is actively seeking an experienced 140M Motor Grader Operator to join our Fine Grade team. This is a skilled position for an operator who takes pride in precision, understands grade, and knows how to get the most out of a motor grader while maintaining a safe and productive job site. Working under the direction of our Fine Grade Managers, you’ll be responsible for operating a 140M Motor Grader to achieve accurate grades and quality finishes across a variety of HGC projects. If you can read grade stakes, understand site plans, work with GPS or stringline, and operate a grader with the precision needed to finish a project right, we want you on our team. Requirements

2+ years of experience operating a 140M Motor Grader is required.
Strong understanding of fine grading and finish grading operations.
Ability to read and interpret grade stakes and construction elevations.
Knowledge of earthwork structures, including streets, temporary roads, parking lots, and similar site improvements.
Experience using GPS grade-control systems and/or stringline/string tracer systems.
Ability to operate a motor grader with precision around existing infrastructure.
Ability to understand site goals and follow direction from Foremen and Superintendents.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with a construction crew.
Safety-focused mindset and commitment to quality workmanship.
Reliable attendance and dependable transportation.
Willingness to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, or another schedule assigned by the Foreman or Superintendent.
Willingness to work Saturdays when project needs require it.
Willingness to work overtime when needed to meet operational requirements.
Ability to pass HGC's pre-employment drug and background screening.
A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be obtained for individuals considered for this position, so a clean driving record is a must.

Nice To Haves

Experience with robotic grade-control systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform daily walk-around inspections and report any equipment concerns before operating the machine.
Safely and efficiently operate a 140M Motor Grader for fine grading, spreading, leveling, and shaping dirt, gravel, stone, and other materials.
Make successive passes over the work area to achieve the required grade, elevation, slope, and finish.
Adjust the grader blade, scarifier, and machine controls to achieve proper material placement and grade.
Operate the motor grader using GPS grade control and stringline/string tracer systems.
Utilize robotic grade-control systems when applicable.
Read and interpret grade stakes, elevations, slopes, and construction plans.
Perform wet setting of stone for asphalt and concrete paving operations.
Understand and maintain required grades for streets, temporary roads, parking lots, and other earthwork structures.
Operate around existing infrastructure without damaging curbs, manholes, curb inlets, drainage structures, utilities, or other improvements.
Work closely with Fine Grade Managers, Foremen, Superintendents, and other crew members to meet project goals.
Communicate professionally with supervisors, teammates, contractors, clients, and vendor partners.
Understand, interpret, and follow project goals and direction from the Foreman or Superintendent.
Keep safety at the forefront while operating equipment and working around other teammates and equipment.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Attend required training at HGC Academy.
