About The Position
A family in Houston, TX 77018 is seeking a dependable and proactive Mother's Helper to assist with afternoon and evening routines for their two children—a 5-year-old and a 9-month-old. The infant attends daycare full-time, and the primary focus will be supporting the family's evening routine with childcare, household organization, and engaging activities. The family has a home with stairs and three friendly dogs and one cat (primarily outdoors). They are seeking a long-term caregiver who is dependable, organized, and enjoys being an extra set of hands during busy afternoons.
Requirements
- Experience caring for young children and managing afternoon/evening routines
- Experience engaging children through play without screens
- Comfortable working in a home with pets
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including using stairs and active play with children
- Dependable and proactive
- Organized
- Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States
Nice To Haves
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Valid driver's license with a reliable vehicle
- Willingness to assist with school pickup
Responsibilities
- Assist with the family's afternoon and evening routine
- Engage the 5-year-old in fun, age-appropriate, screen-free activities, including outdoor play and trips to the park
- Help tidy children's bedrooms and play areas
- Fold and put away children's laundry
- Provide support with the infant as needed when home from daycare
- Maintain a safe, positive, and organized environment
