About The Position

This role provides administrative and program support for the Mosquito & Aquatic Weed Control division, helping to plan, coordinate, and deliver departmental initiatives, events, and services. Responsibilities include organizing records, managing inventory, assisting with community outreach and special events, preparing marketing materials, correspondence, reports, and social media content, and maintaining accurate records and databases. The position also involves managing inventory of equipment and supplies, assisting with purchasing and financial transactions, and providing customer service by responding to inquiries and serving as a resource. This in-person role offers opportunities in event coordination, administrative support, data management, and public engagement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of experience related to area of assignment.
  • Working knowledge of departmental procedures, modern office practices, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Administrative skills.
  • Experience using office technology and software to support daily operations.
  • Ability to build positive relationships, answer questions, and provide helpful guidance professionally and friendly.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to prepare correspondence, reports, promotional materials, and presentations.
  • Ability to introduce programs to a variety of audiences.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Ability to take initiative and solve problems with sound judgment.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

  • Experience supporting community programs, municipal services, or public sector operations is a plus.
