About The Position
Mortgage Underwriter Remote | Full-Time Are you a detail-oriented mortgage professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment? We are looking for an experienced Mortgage Underwriter to join our growing team and help deliver a smooth, compliant, and efficient lending experience for our borrowers and internal partners.
Requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage time-sensitive deadlines in a high-volume environment
- Knowledge of FHA, VA, and USDA underwriting guidelines
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound guideline interpretations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3 years of mortgage underwriting experience required
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Encompass preferred
- Previous agency underwriting experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Underwrite mortgage loans using income calculations, asset documentation, appraisals, and agency guidelines
- Review and interpret loan products and programs
- Stay current on agency guideline updates and changes
- Communicate with Processors, Loan Officers, and Operations staff regarding conditions, documentation needs, and loan concerns
- Review files for final compliance and ensure eligibility for Clear to Close (CTC)
- Maintain expected turn times while ensuring accuracy, quality, and completeness of files
- Support additional underwriting-related tasks as needed
