Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• At least 2 years of experience as a mortgage underwriter or certified processor
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Thorough understanding of the Secondary Market, products, and delivery

Nice To Haves

• FHA Certification (strongly preferred)
• VA SAR / LAPP Designation (strongly preferred)
• Proficiency in desktop underwriter
• Thorough understanding of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines

Responsibilities

• Review and underwrite loan applications to ensure they meet bank, FHA/VA, and secondary market standards.
• Communicate effectively with processors, lenders, and other internal and external customers.
• Analyze loan documentation for adherence to investor requirements and track missing documentation.
• Provide guidance to internal and external customers on loan-related queries.
• Ensure all activities comply with state and federal laws, regulations, and Bank lending policies.
