About The Position

Founders Federal Credit Union is seeking a Mortgage Servicing Specialist to handle member mortgage loan servicing inquiries via telephone or email. This role requires a strong understanding of Mortgage Loan Procedures to effectively resolve issues and fulfill member requests through research and problem-solving. The ideal candidate will have a high attention to detail and accuracy, exceptional multi-tasking skills, strong communication abilities with members and vendors, and the capacity to quickly grasp changing concepts. This position is located on-site at the Corporate Headquarters in Lancaster, SC.

Nice To Haves

• A two-year college degree or job equivalent is desired.
• General knowledge of mortgage processing or servicing experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Effectively and professionally assist and communicate with members, non-members, and employees verbally and in writing.
• Understand complex real estate terminology and communicate using member-friendly language.
• Respond to inquiries, resolve problems, and fulfill member requests by researching solutions and completing transactions professionally and in a timely manner.
• Research core system to identify and correct transaction or interest rate errors on all mortgage account types.
• Review, research, and accurately process loan extension and file maintenance requests according to mortgage loan procedures.
• Comprehend, validate, and complete various Mortgage Servicing related reports accurately and within required time frames.
• Prepare and process Mortgage Loan Verifications.
• Calculate and prepare mortgage payoffs for third parties and members, validating sufficient funds and releasing HELOCs upon receipt of payoff.
• Multi-task and work in a high-volume phone and work queue, handling all requests accurately, efficiently, and with exceptional member service.
• Complete and deliver Adverse Actions to members within ECOA timing requirements and comply with all other statutes and regulations.
• Ensure satisfaction of paid out security instrument documents within required time guidelines and release mobile home titles from E-Title.
• Receive, sort, scan, and validate all mortgage closing and post-closing documents to verify the credit union lien position.
• Assist members with escrow, interest rate adjustment, tax, or homeowners’ insurance payment questions.
• Maintain a working knowledge of Founders Federal Credit Union products and services.
• Attend initial phone etiquette training and any ongoing training as needed.
• Comply with Founders’ policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws, regulations, and statutes issued by federal agencies such as NCUA and FFIEC, including GLB and BSA.
• All other duties as assigned.
