Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of experience in first mortgage processing preferred, with working knowledge of conventional, FHA, and VA loan programs.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams, members, and external partners through both verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail to ensure complete, compliant loan documentation and accurate file review.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Experience with Encompass preferred; comfortable learning and navigating systems in a hybrid work environment, with flexibility to work remotely 2–3 days per week based on performance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare mortgage loan files for underwriting following internal and investor guidelines including the research investor/agency requirements for validity and compliance as needed or requested.
  • Must understand the guidelines and submission practices of conventional, FHA, VA loans and various down payment assistance programs.
  • Be cognizant of the file’s placement on the closing calendar and department standards for originator/member service and ensure closing deadlines are met.
  • Verify application and disclosures meet all compliance requirements including but not limited to; investor, HMDA, TRID, FHA, VA, FNMA and FHLMC.
  • Maintain a high level of member service by being proactive in communication with members, credit union associates, realtors, etc.
