About The Position

Tomo is expanding its mortgage operations team and is seeking a Processing Manager to lead a dynamic team of Mortgage Loan Processors. This role involves ensuring accuracy and compliance in loan applications, fostering a customer-centric culture, and driving on-time closings. The manager will be hands-on, performing tasks alongside the team, and will be pivotal in delivering an exceptional client experience. The company is looking for a proactive leader who can drive action and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of the mortgage lending process and experience in managing mortgage loan processing teams.
  • Proven track record in team management, with the ability to inspire, guide, and support team members to achieve organizational goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, agents, and internal teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience.
  • Proficiency in leveraging technology to improve processes and drive innovation, with a forward-thinking approach to envisioning and implementing future enhancements in the mortgage industry.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3-5 years of experience in mortgage loan processing, specifically with purchase transactions
  • 1-2 years of experience of managing a mortgage loan processing team
  • Experience with Byte Pro or Encompass software

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of approximately 10+ Mortgage Loan Processors, serving as a point of escalation for complex issues and ensuring high performance and professional growth within the team.
  • Oversee the company pipeline to ensure the team adheres to SLAs, maintains high standards of accuracy and compliance, ensures quality submissions to Underwriting, conducts timely follow-ups to prevent bottlenecks, and coordinates successful on-time closings.
  • Train the team on customer service skills for written and verbal communications with agents, customers, and internal teams.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the mortgage processing team.
  • Influence product development and modernization of the Loan Origination System (LOS) by providing input to the product development team.
  • Work cross-functionally to grow the team, actively participating in interviewing and hiring top talent.
