About The Position

Affidian Credit Union is looking for a Mortgage Loan Servicing Specialist. We are an established, strong organization looking for someone who enjoys helping others and building relationships. This is a full-time, in-office, position. Working hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with an occasional start time of 7:00 am.

Requirements

  • A significant level of trust, diplomacy, privacy, confidentiality is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
  • Excellent verbal communications and listening skills.
  • Must possess the ability to type accurately and operate a computer terminal.
  • Must have a general knowledge of banking operations and procedures.
  • Pro-active in solving problems and taking initiative to go a step above in all situations.
  • Good organizational skills to handle a large volume of information for for a variety of responsibilities.
  • Minimum of two years' of similar or related experience.
  • High school degree or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Bank or credit union experience preferred.
  • Knowledge in mortgage loan processing is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for loan servicing of the first and second mortgage loans and HELOC loan portfolios, including all procedures necessary to maintain a loan from the time of its closing to the date it is paid in full.
  • Assist in answering member inquiries regarding payments, taxes or insurance.
  • Place emphasis on quality control to protect the assets of the Credit Union and to prevent losses.
  • Organize all loan servicing related functions to ensure correct and proper records are maintained.
  • Perform post-closing duties such as file audits, track trailing documentation, audit final documents and maintain filing systems, recording and lien protection oversight, collateral documentation verification, post-closing exception resolution, work audit exceptions under management guidance.
  • Process and track all tax and insurance payments on first mortgages, maintain escrow accounts for proper amounts and timely payments to counties/insurance companies.
  • Perform annual escrow analysis, mail to members, assist with questions.
  • Make payment adjustments as necessary.
  • Prepare payoff statements, process paid loans including releasing the recorded lien.
  • Record new loan liens/deeds of trust.
  • Process subordination, loan modification, and skip-a-pay requests.
  • Maintain orderly file room.
  • Synergy filing/support.
  • Assist with E-Oscar inquiries.
  • Run exception reports as needed or required.
  • Coordinate the preparation and mailing of 1098 tax statements.
  • Assist with HMDA reporting (quarterly audits and annual submission).
  • Stays apprised of BSA and AML regulations, reporting any required information to the BSA team.
  • Perform other related duties, including special projects as required or requested.
