About The Position

Responsible for the administrative support of mortgage loans after they are closed and through the life of the loan. Is a point of contact for members who have questions or need assistance with their mortgage loan. Assists in verifying and setting up new loans in the mortgage system. Manages and tracks payments for homeowner’s insurance to ensure disbursements are made in a timely manner. Assists with posting and reconciling payments to mortgage loans. Facilitates the payoff process by preparing and reviewing payoff quotes. Prepares lien release documents and paperwork to ensure proper loan closure. Performs job duties while ensuring regulations, compliance and investor guidelines are upheld.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Effectively and accurately setting up mortgage loans, including onboarding new loans into mortgage servicing system software, auditing for data accuracy, verifying escrow details (tax account, hazard insurance, HOA, and private mortgage insurance policies), running initial escrow disclosures, and setting up automatic payments.
  • Accurately monitoring hazard insurance policies to ensure they are active and in place, tracking loans for coverage, coordinating with members and insurance companies, processing insurance premium disbursements from escrow accounts, and placing force-placed policies when necessary.
  • Accurately processing, posting, and adjusting payments to mortgage loans, including posting payments timely, handling reversals and adjustments, posting external ACH payment transfers, and setting up recurring automatic payments.
  • Processing mortgage loan payoffs, lien releases, and other items related to closing out mortgage loans, including calculating and preparing payoff quotes, validating quotes, posting payoff payments, handling lien releases with counties, preparing and mailing final payoff documents, and archiving documents.
  • Ensuring that professional business relations are established and maintained with Credit Union members and third parties, maintaining the Credit Union’s professional reputation in all contact, maintaining confidentiality, and receiving phone calls to provide accurate information.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with Credit Union personnel, assisting area personnel as needed, communicating with personnel and management regarding activities and problems, and attending and participating in meetings.
  • Performing related duties as required or assigned, staying informed of investor policies and legal requirements, maintaining cleanliness and security of the work area, and performing other duties as required or assigned.
