About The Position

Frontier Community Credit Union is seeking a Full-Time Mortgage Loan Officer responsible for originating all mortgage loans. This role involves providing financial counseling through interviewing, pre-qualifying, and managing the mortgage loan application process. The position requires monitoring and managing the sales pipeline, developing relationships with the real estate/builder community, and maintaining effective communication with credit union personnel and management. All lending functions must be performed in accordance with established credit union procedures and state and federal regulations. The role is remote but requires weekly visits to branches in Atchison, Leavenworth, and Gardner for networking.

Requirements

  • Two to five years of loan processing or mortgage officer experience
  • A two-year college degree, or completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or completion of specialized training courses
  • Math and 10-key skills
  • Personal computer experience including Microsoft and Windows applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform under stress in a fast-paced environment (at times)
  • Detail-oriented
  • Excellent computer skills, especially proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to type at least 45 words per minute
  • Education and/or work experience necessary to demonstrate the necessary skill level

Responsibilities

  • Originating all mortgage loans
  • Providing financial counseling through interviewing, pre-qualifying, and the mortgage loan application process

  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with credit union personnel and management
  • Performing all lending functions in accordance with established credit union procedures

  • Providing prompt, accurate, professional, and friendly service to all members
  • Maintaining accurate account information on the core system
  • Preparing required daily, weekly, and monthly reports
  • Maintaining a dependable record of attendance and timeliness
  • Adhering to compliance policies when resolving member issues
  • Problem-solving when the established procedure does not fully address the inquiry
  • Maintaining a high degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in all communication
