About The Position

Federal Hill Mortgage is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented mortgage professional to join our team as a Mortgage Auditor Specialist. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong understanding of mortgage documentation, compliance, and quality control. In this position, you will play a critical role in ensuring closed loan files are accurate, complete, and compliant with investor, agency, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mortgage auditing, post-closing, quality control, or mortgage compliance.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage lending guidelines, compliance standards, and closing documentation.
  • Experience reviewing FHA, VA, Conventional, USDA, and Non-QM loan files.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed post-closing audits of mortgage loan files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with investor, agency, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Review loan documents for adherence to FHA, VA, Conventional, USDA, and Non-QM program requirements.
  • Verify accuracy of disclosures, closing documents, income calculations, fees, signatures, and underwriting conditions.
  • Identify documentation deficiencies, compliance discrepancies, and potential audit findings, and work with internal teams to resolve issues.
  • Ensure closed loans meet internal quality control standards and secondary market requirements.
  • Maintain organized audit records and document findings, corrections, and resolutions.
  • Assist with preparation for internal and external audits, investor reviews, and regulatory examinations.
  • Stay current on changing mortgage regulations, compliance requirements, and investor updates.
  • Support loan officers and operations staff with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
  • Handle confidential borrower information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment built on accountability and high standards.
