About The Position

Rothesay Asset Management North America is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Mortgage Analyst to work at the intersection of loan operations and structured finance capital markets. The analyst will support the risk management pipeline by conducting residential loan-file due diligence, analyzing mortgage collateral, and building and running cash flow models for non-agency residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) structures. The role offers an opportunity to move from fundamental asset auditing into capital-markets pricing, structural modeling, and asset-backed transaction execution. The position involves analyzing loan data and collateral quality, supporting cash flow modeling for Prime, Non-QM, and CRT securitization shelves, preparing portfolio reporting, and coordinating file validation with external diligence houses, rating agencies, audit teams, credit managers, custodians, and originators. The role is performed in a professional office environment. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance, Quantitative Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or another heavily analytical field.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in residential mortgage banking, capital markets, warehouse lending, or structured finance analytics.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
  • Basic conceptual understanding of residential mortgage metrics, including prepayment and default curves, amortization schedules, and fundamental credit concepts.
  • High intellectual curiosity, strong attention to detail, and strong self-organization.
  • Ability to communicate technical findings to a broad range of team members.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; the position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

  • Support senior analysts in building, updating, and stress-testing cash flow models for non-agency securitization structures, including Prime, Non-QM, and CRT shelves.
  • Analyze securitization cash flow waterfalls and assess how prepayment speeds (CPR), default rates (CDR), and loss severities affect senior and junior tranches and bond yields.
  • Use Microsoft Excel and specialized industry software to map loan-tape data into securitization models.
  • Ingest and normalize raw loan tapes from originators or sellers for structured analysis.
  • Maintain monthly portfolio performance metrics and produce internal reports on collateral metrics, trends, and liquidity for management decision-making.
