About The Position
The Mortgage Accounting & Finance Intern will support the finance team in managing accounting processes related to mortgage operations. This role offers hands-on exposure to financial reporting, loan accounting, and regulatory compliance within the mortgage industry. The intern will assist with data analysis, reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP knowledge preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas)
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily accounting tasks, including purchase invoices, journal entries and general ledger maintenance
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Support ad-hoc projects as needed
- Participate in process improvement and automation initiatives
