About The Position

As a Montessori Teacher, internally known as a Guide, you'll play a crucial role in shaping young lives through a holistic approach to development. You'll design and lead engaging activities that foster infant and children's physical and emotional growth in a nurturing environment. By weaving Christian values, worship, and prayer into daily routines, you'll create a spiritually enriching atmosphere for the little ones in your care. Your commitment to maintaining a healthy and safe classroom will be paramount, ensuring all activities meet rigorous hygiene and safety standards. In this dynamic position, you'll also collaborate with team members to manage family communications, uphold center policies and regulations, and maintain accurate records. This position offers full-time or part-time schedules, supporting children from 6 weeks through age 5. Hourly Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 DOE

Requirements

Ability to work well with others and foster a team environment.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Basic knowledge of a PC and Tablet.
Basic understanding of early childhood development.
Basic knowledge of fundamental Christian values and practices.
At least 21 years of age
At least 6 months of experience in a classroom setting
Infant/Child First Aid and CPR Certification (can be completed within 1 month of employment)
6 credits in early childhood education and development

Nice To Haves

Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
Certified Childcare Professional (CCP), Child Development Associate (CDA), an equivalent national competency-based credential, or 12 credits in early childhood education and development (can be completed within 6 months of employment)

Responsibilities

Attend to children's physical and emotional needs promptly and with compassion, ensuring a nurturing and supportive environment.
Implement and uphold Montessori principles in all activities, fostering an environment that promotes independence, exploration, and individualized learning.
Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards, and safety and security of children.
Lead by example, fostering success in the Guiding team through modeling and coaching.
Maintain frequent communications with families through informal discussions, and daily child reports.
Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
Maintain accurate records, forms, and files.
Maintain a professional development plan to ensure ongoing professional growth.
Embrace and integrate constructive feedback positively to support continuous professional development.
Design, lead, and actively participate in classroom activities that incorporate Christian values, worship, and prayer, fostering a spiritually enriching environment for children.
Oversee Assistant Daycare Teachers, internally known as Assistant Guides, and classroom volunteers to ensure they adhere to planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards.
