About The Position

Join the Monster Stomp Team at SeaWorld San Diego as a Monster Stomp Dancer (Performer II). In this role, you will rehearse and perform a 25-minute show with high-intensity dancing, blocking, and acting 2-3 times a night, ensuring guests leave with lasting spooky memories. This position requires flexible availability from Mid-August 2026 through November 1, 2026, specifically on Thursdays through Sundays, including event dates starting 9/11/26. Rehearsal dates are to be determined. The role involves working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, and requires the ability to work varying shifts and hours based on park operational schedules, including opening and closing shifts, and after-hour rehearsals. You will consistently and expertly execute stage direction and show content as directed by Event and Show Producers and Entertainment Leadership. The position also requires the ability to work in an environment with atmospheric effects and to positively interact with park guests and team members of all ages, ethnic/cultural backgrounds, languages, and individuals with special needs. You must have strong verbal communication skills and be able to stand, sit, and/or walk for prolonged periods. Physical activities include kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching, simple grasp, and fine hand manipulation. The role also involves repeated standing, sitting, kneeling, crawling, laying down, and jumping, as well as vocalizations such as screams, gasps, and wails. Flexibility in work locations is also required.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions including extreme temperatures while maintaining a high level of professionalism and performance skills.
  • Ability to work varying shifts and hours based on park operational schedule – i.e. ability to work opening and closing shifts, as well as after-hour rehearsals.
  • Must have strong verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to stand, sit and/or walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Position engages in the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to-waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks.
  • Ability to stand, sit, kneel, crawl, lay down, and/or jump up repeatedly for the duration of your shift.
  • Position also engages in a variety of vocalizations such as: sudden screams, gasps, wails, vocal manipulation, etc.
  • Must be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities.

  • Must have flexible availability every week from Mid August 2026 - November, 1, 2026.
  • Available on event dates beginning 9/11/26 Thursdays - Sundays.
  • Must have flexible availability every week Thursdays through Sundays, throughout the scheduled dates of the event.
  • Learn a dance combination and participate in improve and athletic stamina exercises.
  • Arrive early enough to stretch and warm up before the audition begins.
  • Wear form fitting dance attire that allows a full range of movement and tennis or jazz shoes.
  • Prepare a resume and headshot, which will be retained by the audition team.

Nice To Haves

  • Dancer Narrator – Must have dance experience
  • Previous guest experience in a high-volume capacity preferred.
  • Previous experience in Theme Park Entertainment, Dance, Theatre, or related field is preferred.
  • Costumed character auditions are based primarily on movement, non-verbal communication, and physical coordination.
  • Please do not wear jeans.
  • Actors - Great stage presence and interactive comedic skills that excel at improvisation.
  • Costumed Characters - Personable, animated people with fun, outgoing personalities to bring Sesame Street® characters to life.
  • Dancers - Demonstrate technical proficiency in a variety of styles including jazz, musical theatre, ballet, and modern. Partnering skills, break dancing, tumbling, tap, or other specialties are a plus.
  • Event Performers - Bring our special and seasonal events to life such as Event Host, Culinary Performers and Santa's Helpers.
  • Instrumentalists - Proficient in percussion, brass, woodwinds or guitar. All instrumentalists should have the ability to play varying styles ranging from pop/rock to Motown to gospel and must be able to memorize music for shows and perform with great stage presence.
  • Scare Squad - Enthusiastic performers, who are passionate about Halloween, to add fun and scary excitement to our award-winning Howl-O-Scream events.
  • Vocalists - Great energy and stage presence who can demonstrate technical proficiency in a variety of styles including pop, rock, musical theatre, classical, contemporary, and a cappella vocal styling. Capacity to hear/sing harmonies is a must. Sight reading skills are not required but are preferred.

Benefits

  • 19 USD per hour for non-performing shifts
