About The Position

SeaWorld San Diego is seeking enthusiastic, dedicated, and hard-working individuals to join their team as Ambassadors for the Howl-O-Scream event. As a Howl-O-Scream Scare Actor (Performer II), you will be responsible for delivering spine-tingling performances to ensure guests have a memorable and spooky experience. This seasonal position offers the opportunity to be part of an award-winning Scare-Event, participate in exclusive employee-only events, and collaborate with the production team to enhance the Howl-O-Scream experience. The role involves forming strong bonds within the SeaWorld Entertainment Community.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Animated, fun, and outgoing personality.
Ability to openly accept performance feedback/critiques and adapt accordingly.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions including extreme temperatures while maintaining a high level of professionalism and performance skills.
Ability to work varying shifts and hours based on park operational schedule – i.e. ability to work opening and closing shifts, as well as after-hour rehearsals.
Strong verbal communication skills.
Able to stand, sit and/or walk for prolonged periods of time.
Position engages in the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to-waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks.
Ability to stand, sit, kneel, crawl, lay down, and/or jump up repeatedly for the duration of your shift.
Must be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities.

Nice To Haves

Previous guest experience in a high-volume capacity preferred.
Previous experience in Theme Park Entertainment, Dance, Theatre, or related field is preferred.
Live mixing experience preferred for DJ roles.
Some scripted dialogue required for Haunted House Performers.
Specialty performers including contortionists, sliders, and stilt walkers (drywall-style stilts).

Responsibilities

Deliver spine-tingling performances and scares to thrill-seeking guests.
Join an award-winning Scare-Event.
Participate in exclusive employee-only events like ride nights and special previews.
Collaborate with the production team to elevate Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld San Diego.
Form lifelong bonds within the SeaWorld Entertainment Community.
Perform as a Haunted House Performer (stationary and active roles, some scripted dialogue).
Perform as a Pathway Scare Performer (roaming and interactive positions).
Perform as an M.C./Event Host/Vignette Performer (scripted, high-energy characters).
Perform as a Specialty Performer (including contortionists, sliders, and stilt walkers).
Perform as a DJ (live mixing experience preferred).
Consistently and expertly execute stage direction and show content as directed by Event and Show Producers and Entertainment Leadership.
Positively interact with park guests and team members of all ages, ethnic/cultural backgrounds and/or languages, and individuals with special needs.
Perform in an environment with atmospheric effects (strobes, fog, smoke, haze, mist, bubbles, snow, scents, etc.).
Perform in multi-layered clothing, face masks (partial, or full), wigs, and other theatrical costuming.
Engage in a variety of vocalizations such as: sudden screams, gasps, wails, vocal manipulation, etc.
Be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities.
Openly accept performance feedback/critiques and adapt accordingly.
