Requirements

High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) is required.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment/supplies preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides support services.
Basic computer keyboarding skills.
Tearing down and assembling patient charts as appropriate.
Calling other departments to inform them of ordered tests and procedures as needed.
Stocking supplies.
Monitoring and interpreting patient heart rhythms and vital signs.
Following set algorithm parameters that may raise alarms.
Interpreting alarms and following through with appropriate communication as needed.
Providing continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients (depending on location).
Summoning the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance.
