About The Position

Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is hiring a Monitor Tech for the Intermediate Care/Step Down Unit. The Monitor Tech observes, recognizes, interprets, evaluates, and documents EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients in order to detect deviations from patient's norm. Promptly notifies appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias. Operates and utilizes monitoring system to full capacity. Ensures proper and safe functioning of the telemetry equipment. Our 24-bed Intermediate Care Unit provides a dynamic and supportive environment for nurses who thrive in a fast-paced setting that bridges critical and acute care. We care for patients with complex medical needs requiring close monitoring and specialized interventions, while fostering strong interdisciplinary collaboration and professional growth. Requirements

  • HS Diploma or Equivalent
  • Completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course required upon hire.
