Monitor Technician - Intermediate Care Unit
About The Position
Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is hiring a Monitor Tech for the Intermediate Care/Step Down Unit. This role involves observing, recognizing, interpreting, evaluating, and documenting EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients to detect deviations from the patient's norm. The Monitor Tech will promptly notify appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias, operate and utilize the monitoring system to its full capacity, and ensure the proper and safe functioning of the telemetry equipment. The 24-bed Intermediate Care Unit provides a dynamic and supportive environment for nurses who thrive in a fast-paced setting that bridges critical and acute care. This unit cares for patients with complex medical needs requiring close monitoring and specialized interventions, while fostering strong interdisciplinary collaboration and professional growth. Requirements
- HS Diploma or Equivalent
- Completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course required upon hire.
