Requirements

  • High School or equivalent
  • 0-6 months training/experience in arrhythmia monitoring or equivalent Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training
  • May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases.
  • Subject to electrical and radiant energy hazards.
  • Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances.
  • Handles emergency or crisis situations.
  • Occasionally subjected to irregular hours.
  • Occasional prolonged standing/walking.
  • Occasionally lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patients.
  • Lifts supplies/equipment.
  • Requires manual dexterity and mobility.
  • Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, pulling 100+ pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous cardiac monitor technician experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs telemetry monitoring
  • Performs real time arrhythmia monitoring
  • Provides back-up coverage for ECG Department
  • Provides back-up coverage for the Holter Department
  • Processes reports
  • Performs other Heart Station duties
  • Practices according to safety and infection control policies
  • Provides service excellence to the customers of Saint Louis University Hospital by delivering timely, high quality care in a courteous and respectful manner
  • Incorporates Quality Assessment into one’s daily work
  • Provides age-appropriate care
  • Provides specialized care to patients at high risk for injury
