White Oak Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Monitor Technician for our Heart and Vascular unit who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing. The Monitor Technician is responsible for documenting rhythm on the EKG flow sheet, immediately reporting any change in cardiac rhythm to the nurse, and obtaining strips on irregularities. They maintain charge requisitions on monitored patients and make nursing personnel aware of the need for replacement of patient electrodes and/or newly monitored patients to be connected. The role also involves maintaining the safe and effective operation of the Monitoring Console at all times, ensuring paper loaders are full, and monitoring the assigned telemetry console. The technician obtains monitor strips at the start of each shift, interprets them, and places them on the flow sheet. They participate in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams, provide a verbal report to relief persons, and give a patient report to oncoming technicians. Additionally, they verify and adjust alarm limits as established for the levels appropriate to the individual patient and ensure that alarms are on at all times. Other duties as assigned.
