About The Position
Sentara Health is seeking a full-time, day shift Monitor Tech for Telemetry Monitor Surveillance at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, VA. The role involves observing, recognizing, interpreting, and documenting EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients to detect deviations from the patient's norm. The technician will promptly notify appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias, operate and utilize the monitoring system to its full capacity, and ensure the proper and safe functioning of the telemetry equipment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma and completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course
- OR High School Diploma and 1 year experience in monitor technician surveillance within the last 5 years
- Candidates who have not completed a monitor technician surveillance program must complete a certificate program within 90 days of hire.
- Must successfully complete the Sentara Basic Arrhythmia competency tool, including passing a basic arrhythmia exam.

- 1 year of experience in monitor technician surveillance/EKG monitoring within the last 5 years
