About The Position

Sentara Health is seeking a full time, day shift Monitor Tech for Telemetry Monitor Surveillance at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, VA. The Monitor Tech will observe, recognize, interpret, evaluate, and document EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients to detect deviations from the patient's norm. They will promptly notify appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias and operate and utilize the monitoring system to its full capacity, ensuring the proper and safe functioning of the telemetry equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma and completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course
• OR High School Diploma and 1 year experience in monitor technician surveillance within the last 5 years
• Candidates who have not completed a monitor technician surveillance program must complete a certificate program within 90 days of hire.
• To be released from new employee orientation all Monitor Technicians must successfully complete the Sentara Basic Arrhythmia competency tool which includes passing a basic arrhythmia exam
• 1 year of experience in monitor technician surveillance/EKG monitoring within the last 5 years

Responsibilities
