About The Position

Monitor Technicians are accountable for providing continual observation of cardiac monitors at the Central Monitoring Station, under the direction of an RN or LPN. The Monitor Technician must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the principles of electrocardiography and recognize cardiac arrhythmias. This individual must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and respond to life-threatening situations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • At least six (6) months of experience in a related field
  • Knowledge of Internet software
  • Knowledge of Order processing systems
  • Knowledge of Payroll systems
  • Knowledge of Spreadsheet software
  • Knowledge of Word Processing software
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating
  • Must be currently certified in BLS and maintain throughout employment
  • If not certified, BLS certification can be obtained during orientation
  • Must complete the Basic Dysrhythmia course within orientation and must complete annually throughout employment
  • Employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG), or by the General Services Administration (GSA), or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)
  • Must meet and maintain periodic background investigation and adjudication for childcare
  • Must be able to pass the arrhythmia test

Nice To Haves

  • Monitor tech or related experience preferred
  • Dysrhythmia certified preferred
