About The Position

Sentara Health is seeking a part time, night shift Monitor Tech for Telemetry Monitor Surveillance at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, VA. This role involves observing, recognizing, interpreting, and documenting EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients to detect deviations from the patient's norm. The Monitor Tech will promptly notify appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias, operate and utilize the monitoring system to its full capacity, and ensure the proper and safe functioning of the telemetry equipment.

Requirements

High School Diploma and completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course
High School Diploma and 1 year experience in monitor technician surveillance within the last 5 years
Candidates who have not completed a monitor technician surveillance program must complete a certificate program within 90 days of hire.
Must successfully complete the Sentara Basic Arrhythmia competency tool which includes passing a basic arrhythmia exam.

Responsibilities

Observes, recognizes, interprets, evaluates, and documents EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients in order to detect deviations from patient's norm.
Promptly notifies appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias.
Operates and utilizes monitoring system to full capacity.
Ensures proper and safe functioning of the telemetry equipment.
