Part Time Monitor
About The Position
The Monitor position at Oakdale Elementary School is a part-time support staff role responsible for actively supervising students in various school locations including the cafeteria, playground, and hallways. The primary goal is to ensure student safety by maintaining an orderly environment where students follow school regulations. This role involves developing positive relationships with students, addressing inappropriate behavior, reporting significant issues to appropriate staff, and ensuring no child is left unsupervised. The position is a 10-month role with a daily schedule of 10:30 AM - 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday, totaling up to 16.75 hours per week.

Responsibilities
- Actively supervise students in the cafeteria, on the playground, in the hallways, and/or other area assigned
- Promote student safety by ensuring an orderly environment in which students adhere to school regulations and expectations
- Develop positive relationships with students by recognizing appropriate behaviors and treating every student with dignity
- Address inappropriate behavior with calm verbal reminders
- Report significant or repeated misbehavior to the classroom teacher or administrator
- Report any student injuries immediately to the school nurse
- Support and communicate with other monitors and staff members
- Ensure that no child is left unsupervised
- Escort students in hallways
- Provide written reports of significant behavior issues and student injuries
