About The Position

The Monitor Technician is a member of the nursing team who interprets cardiac monitor data, working under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Provides continuous cardiac monitoring, observation, and documentation of cardiac rhythm on a routine basis. The Monitor Tech communicates changes in the cardiac rhythm to the charge nurse and primary nurse. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or Equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience
• Basic Rhythm Strip interpretation exam with a pass score of 80% or higher.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.
• Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation.
• TB/PPD Surveillance Program
• Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
