Monitor Tech - Cardio Pulmonary Rehab (Per Diem, Temporary, Days)

Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Monitor Technician provides observation, recognition and documentation of cardiac rhythms, recognizes normal and abnormal cardiac patterns and reports findings. As monitor tech they assist the clinical staff by helping participants put on the monitor. They will assist in collecting and entering patient data from the exercise session in the Rehab monitor system including but not limited to, heart rate, blood pressure, RPE and other parameters related to the participant’s exercise sessions. Reports abnormal findings to the clinical staff.
Requirements
- Basic Arrhythmia recognition course or equivalent course or experience
- Must demonstrate technical competence.
- Must have knowledge of medical terminology.
- Must be able to interact professionally and effectively communicate with physicians, staff, patients, and public.
- Must show sensitivity for the patient and family.
- Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment.
- Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Capable of using computers for a variety of support functions.
- Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential.
- Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
- Will pass the Basic Arrhythmia Recognition Course within six months of employment, or challenge and pass this course’s final exam to validate equivalent experience.
- Demonstrates 75% competence on proficiency exam during annual evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Provides observation, recognition and documentation of cardiac rhythms.
