Monitor Tech

St. Clare's - Denville•Denville, NJ

About The Position

Saint Clare's Health is seeking a Monitor Tech to provide indirect care in a department setting. The role monitors cardiac rhythms using direct cardiac monitors and facilitates departmental communication. The Monitor Tech transcribes physician orders when CPOE and the EMR clinical documentation system are unavailable, verifies that laboratory and radiology tests have been ordered and completed, prepares and maintains ICU records, orders unit supplies, and prepares each patient's chart with the forms needed daily. The Monitor Tech may assist nursing staff with indirect patient-care duties as long as this does not distract from the primary responsibility of dysrhythmia monitoring. In the ICU, the Monitor Tech may provide direct care to adult and geriatric patients under the direct supervision of an RN and within the scope of a Certified Nursing Assistant, provided the employee has an active CNA certification, demonstrates annual competency in CNA duties and skills, and is relieved of Monitor Technician duties while assisting the RN. Saint Clare's Health is part of Prime Healthcare and serves communities in Morris, Warren, and Sussex counties through hospitals and other healthcare facilities. The position is full-time on the day shift. The stated compensation estimate is $20.70 per hour; the exact starting compensation is determined during hiring based on factors including skills, applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
