About The Position
The Unit Secretary is a member of the health care team working under the direct supervision of the Nurse Director or charge nurse and performs receptionist and secretarial duties on the patient care unit while functioning as the focal communication source in the nursing station. This position is also responsible for continuous observation of telemetry monitoring and recognition of cardiac dysrhythmias. Responsible for cardiac observation and reporting the cardiac rhythm changes to the nursing staff assigned to the patient.
Requirements
- Graduate of medical assistant program (preferred) or CNA training program required
- Completion of Basic Arrhythmia course including EKG telemetry competency test
- Recent Acute Care experience preferred
- Prefer background in medical terminology.
- Typing skills required
- Computer skills required
- BLS
- CNA or MA-C
