About The Position

Heart and Vascular Care is hiring a Monitor & Lab Technician to support its cardiac care practice. The role combines cardiac monitor services and laboratory tasks in a patient-focused, team-based, family-oriented environment. The technician places Holter and event monitors, downloads monitor data, maintains monitor inventory, troubleshoots equipment, and performs venipuncture, specimen handling, and EKGs as needed. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with no nights or weekends. The employer provides training on its processes, but applicants must already have experience as a Cardiac Monitor Technician and basic monitor technician skills.

Responsibilities

Place Holter and event monitors on patients, explain the process, and answer patient questions.
Download information from monitors and create encounters in the EMR system.
Manage daily monitor inventory, follow up with patients about unreturned monitors, and coordinate with the monitor company to replace or repair monitors.
Troubleshoot monitors with patients as needed.
Sanitize monitors and prepare them for the next patient.
Perform venipuncture to obtain and prepare blood specimens for testing, and follow up on results.
Explain the blood draw process and answer questions about blood collection.
Apply dressings to wounds created by blood draws.
Register and store blood specimens correctly.
Send blood samples to testing laboratories.
Maintain records of blood samples and their returned results.
Perform EKGs when needed.
