About The Position

Now Hiring Part Time School Bus Monitors/Aides - Pennsauken, NJ As a Part Time School Bus Monitor, you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of the students. You will assist the bus driver in providing an excellent and safe journey for students to and from school. No experience as a School Bus Monitor is required! We will guide you with our industry-leading safety and training programs.

Your day as a School Bus Monitor/Aide will include:
Help students safely board and exit the bus
Assist children with special needs during transport
Ensure students remain seated and follow bus safety rules
Communicate with the driver to maintain a safe, calm ride
Provide care and encouragement to students each day

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age

• Ability to work flexible split shifts (AM/PM).
• Physical ability to assist students and perform emergency procedures.
• Friendly, reliable, and patient working with children
• Team-oriented with a focus on safety

Nice To Haves

• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Knows the route and remains alert to monitor the welfare of passengers while enroute.
• Keeps order on the bus.
• Communicates behavior problems and conditions of various stops with the driver.
• Cooperates and communicates with school personnel, parents and students.
• Assists in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus utilizing Zonar technology, including child checks.
• Assists students in the loading and unloading process.
• Attends all safety and training meetings.
• Conducts emergency evacuation from the bus, including exiting from the emergency door.
• Opens and closes service doors and moves up and down steps multiple times daily.
• Cleans the insides of the bus including sweeping, dusting and cleaning windows.
• Cleans outside windows of the bus.
• Assists the driver whenever necessary to safely direct the vehicle backwards.
• Other specialized functions as required by contract.
