About the position
The job overview for this role is to act as the compliance officer and MLRO for Bitpanda's UK business, ensuring regulatory compliance and AML obligations are met. The role involves advising on compliance and financial crime matters, developing and maintaining compliance processes, and managing the suspicious activity reporting process. The individual will also be responsible for reporting on relevant compliance and AML issues to the executive team and collaborating with internal and external parties.
Responsibilities
- Act as Bitpanda's nominated compliance officer and MLRO through the license application and establishment of the new UK business.
- Act as the MLRO for the existing UK Bitpanda Custody business, advising on core compliance including AML/AFC, owning the compliance program, and maintaining inventory, controls, testing, and reporting systems.
- Advise and guide on Compliance and Financial Crime matters to all UK entities and drive a culture of compliance across the business.
- Develop and maintain existing Compliance, AML, and sanctions processes and ensure the implementation of appropriate controls reflecting business and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and AML obligations are met through effective programs, frameworks, and policies.
- Manage the UK suspicious activity reporting (SAR) process internally and externally.
- Build a strong relationship with the Regulator and ensure accurate responses and reports to the Regulator and enforcement authorities.
- Review and analyze new and upcoming developments from the Regulator and maintain oversight of developments affecting business activities.
- Report to the executive team, management boards, and Board of Directors on relevant Compliance and AML issues and incidents.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external parties such as Legal, Risk, Internal Audit, and external audit partners.
- Design and deliver compliance education and training to colleagues.
Requirements
