Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical, Biological, Clinical, or Medical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology from an accredited institution.
  • Experience working in a CLIA-certified molecular laboratory.
  • Knowledge of molecular laboratory techniques, including: Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), PCR, qPCR, and RT-PCR, Nucleic acid extraction and quantification, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), CLIA and CAP regulations, Laboratory Developed Tests (LDTs).
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • ASCP Molecular Certification required for Level II and Level III candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical molecular laboratory testing.
  • Accession and process patient specimens for molecular diagnostics.
  • Perform nucleic acid extraction, quantification, and sample preparation.
  • Conduct Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows and related testing procedures.
  • Analyze laboratory data and maintain accurate patient testing records.
  • Perform quality control procedures and ensure adherence to laboratory quality standards.
  • Document instrument maintenance, calibrations, and corrective actions.
  • Participate in proficiency testing, inspections, and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot technical and operational issues affecting test performance.
  • Maintain laboratory inventory and supply levels.
  • Communicate technical concerns and findings to laboratory leadership.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment.
  • Train and mentor laboratory staff as appropriate based on experience level.
  • Support additional laboratory initiatives and projects as assigned.
