The Department of Laboratories at Seattle Children’s Hospital is recruiting a PhD, MD or MD/PhD to join our Molecular and Cytogenetics lab. Candidates must be board-eligible or board-certified in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics (LGG), or dual boarded in Clinical Cytogenetics and Genomics and Molecular Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG). Candidates with suitable academic records should jointly apply for an appointment in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the University of Washington. Our hospital-based lab is an integrated cytogenetics and molecular laboratory, which analyzes constitutional and oncology specimens using a variety of techniques including chromosome analysis, FISH, chromosomal microarray, MLPA, and DNA and RNA sequencing. You should possess strong interpersonal skills and experience with lab operations. You will participate in education of trainees, consult with ordering providers, and present at case conferences and tumor boards. You should develop or continue an academic program and stimulate development of new assays in the Genetics Laboratory at Seattle Children’s Hospital and University of Washington.
