About The Position

This position requires good vision, hearing, and hand-eye coordination. The individual must be able to follow written work instructions, multitask, and meet production goals and deadlines. Team-oriented individuals with good communication skills and great attention to detail are desired. The role involves regular lifting of up to 50lbs, gripping, pushing, and pulling with 80lb strength, and occasional generation of 15lbs of pinch strength. A pre-employment physical is required. The job may involve elevated work and repetitive activities, with the ability to stand on concrete for up to 8 hours. Cross-training within the classification is expected, along with adherence to all safety rules and the use of required personal protective equipment. The ability to work any shift, maintain a clean workstation, and clean equipment is also necessary. Some tasks require sitting for up to 30 minutes occasionally, and the ability to work both in a team and individually.

Responsibilities

  • Identify the cores necessary for each mold.
  • Put together puzzles.
  • Read and identify a traveler.
  • Become familiar with wanding parts.
  • Communicate with supervisor to identify molds that are ready for pour.
  • Identify defects in cores.
  • Identify and remove fins.
  • Operate rotary tools for grinding and drilling holes in sand cores.
  • Apply mud to cores to seal seams.
  • Clean and prepare the core for molding.
